Awami League mayoral candidate Sadek wins Barisal city polls

Awami League mayoral candidate Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah bagged 64,914 votes while his rival BNP-candidate Md Majibur Rahman Sarwar got 7,450 votes in the polls.
The voting in BCC began at 8:00am and continued till 4:00pm across the municipality on Monday (July 30).
However, BNP candidates have alleged huge irregularities and vote rigging. BNP mayoral candidate Mujibur Rahman Sarwar and Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal candidate Manisha Chakrabarty (Ladder) among others boycotted the election alleging irregularities.
