Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘The ghosts of those who did not want freedom, who were anti-liberation, still remain in this country. The Prime Minister said this at a joint meeting of Awami League presidium and secretaries at a joint meeting on Thursday night.
He said that the Father of the Nation has shown the dream of freedom struggle and Liberation War to the people of this country. Motivated to live with intuition. Many can talk about that freedom struggle and the liberation war, so much has been planned so that the name of Father of Father of the Nation is completely removed from history. But the truth is, it will be revealed, the truth will be manifested.
‘
The Prime Minister gave such speculation when the government and the courts are being torn between the full verdict and observation of the Supreme Court on canceling the Sixth Amendment. Some statements made by the Chief Justice indirectly against Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib in the court’s ruling have made the ruling Awami League very angry.
The Chief Justice said in his observation, “The unbreakable unity that we made in 1971 failed, the enemies failed to foil. Today we live in a free, independent and sovereign country. But today we are indulging in arrogance and ignorance. No one country or nation has been created by a single person. If we really want to live in golden Bengal in the dream of the Father of the Nation, then we must be free from this addiction and suicide ambition. This amity is only a person or a person can do everything. ‘
The Chief Justice also said that it is a virus and, unfortunately, it has infected our culture in such a wide way that our policy makers are unable to see a future or imagine that the entire nation is involved with the future, not one person.
Awami League president Sheikh Hasina has made these remarks by pointing to such remarks of the Chief Justice. Sheikh Hasina also said, “For twenty-five years, efforts have been made to remove the father’s name from history. Some people went a step ahead and said that there was no single leadership independence. There is nothing in the individual efforts. But behind all things, there are goals, ideal, dreams, motivation, leadership, energy; That power was Bangabandhu. ‘
Sheikh Hasina said, “The government of Pakistan had signed a treacherous trial (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman) till the verdict of the execution. Where did Yahya does not dismiss Zia from the job? He did not say anything. He just talked about one. That is Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At that time, Yahya condemned Bangabandhu as the enemy of Pakistan. So this truth can not be realized; Whether he believes in Bangladesh’s independence or not, I doubt it.
‘
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also said that independence and liberation war must have been combined efforts. But someone has to lead. There are some people if they get the opportunity to bring the distorted history forward. But no one can believe in the distorted history. History can not be buried. There have been many conspiracies and plans to remove the name of Bangabandhu from the history of twenty-one years.
Criticizing BNP’s founder Ziaur Rahman’s role during the Liberation War and later the party’s leaders, the Prime Minister said, “During the war of liberation, the Bengalis barricaded those who had gone to extricate arms from Swat ship during the liberation war. Jahur Hossain, the then leader of Awami League, felt the necessity of sending a declaration of independence through the army, on March 27 from Chittagong Radio Station, to whom he sent the declaration sent by Bangabandhu, and later tried to make him a hero.
It is to be noted that Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, in his full verdict of cancellation of the sixteenth amendment, strongly criticized various issues including democracy, politics, military rule, election commission, good governance, corruption and independence of the judiciary. Meanwhile, a massive uprising started in the ruling Awami League. But the whole opposition party including the BNP agreed with this observation of the court.
