BNP fails to meet the goal of collecting membership

BNP has announced two month-long programs to collect and renew the new primary membership in front of the next general election. Although the first month of this program was a huge response, the results were not available for the month.
Though the target of collecting 10 million members has been sold in two months, 60 lakh members have been sold. The value of each form is 10 rupees. The party earns six crore taka at that rate.
However, failure to meet the goal is being blamed on the barrier of the ruling party in the collection of a member. Besides, the party’s leaders and activists claimed that due to floods, the campaign of the BNP has been hampered.
The two month-long programs announced by the BNP to conclude and renew the new primary membership are concluded on Thursday (31st August). There are only two days left in hand. According to the party’s central office sources, 60 percent of the target has been achieved.
However, the people concerned with this issue are not ready to open their mouths. They said, there are two more days in hand. In the meantime, the party will officially announce whether the program will be officially extended or not. Also collecting members is an ongoing process. Membership forms will be submitted after the binding period.

The BNP leaders demanded that the BNP members have been barred from collecting programs in different areas. In many places, the program has been postponed. In addition to the Dhanmondi police station in the capital, there were attacks in Faridpur, Mymensingh, Khagrachari, Kushtia, Madaripur, Shibchar and Netrokona.
Asked about BNP chairperson’s adviser Ataur Rahman Dhali, he said, “We got a huge response at the very beginning. But due to the obstruction of the government in different places, we did not do the program well. ”

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia officially inaugurated and renewed the program at Gulshan office on July 1 night. About 36 lakh forms were sold in the first month, BNP senior joint secretary-general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “The autocratic government is not allowing us to observe our political program. The police and the government-backed terrorists have obstructed the collection of members in a variety of ways.
According to the party sources, to meet the target of the collection of one crore new members, it is mandatory to collect 200,000 wards in each ward, 300 in municipal wards and one thousand new members in every ward of city corporation.
